Who knew that we could experience transforming worship in a garage sale? Here are some reasons:
Completely humbled by the friends who came through the week - giving up their own time to help us prepare... several times over.
Again humbled by all the donations from friends and strangers to sell for our cause.
A 6 AM knock at the door to start setting up for the morning by a friend who made time for us.
Continued help through the day by friends to help.
A friend to stay late and help with the long clean up.
Having people explain how we were blessing them by having such wonderful items at great prices ... years worth of clothes for their kids... Christmas presents.... shoes and coat for a neighbor... furnishings for a family in need.... can you imagine... I'm standing there, accepting these thankful words for doing nothing but standing in this gap.
People giving their kids way too much money to spend at our bake sale on purpose.
People saying "keep the change" over and over through the day.
People living simple and having more to give and giving it to us without judging our past decisions, having faith in where we are headed .... we have been so challenged to this point.
We've experienced nothing but kindness and generosity through the entire process and know we can never repay it.
Raising $1,130.00 - meaning we can pay our fee for the home study TOMORROW!!!! And the money ending up to be the least of these.....
We had no idea what to expect, but we have seen worship in action and will not be the same. Praise God from whom all blessing flow!
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.
