general updates

Well... I need to just let everyone know where we are in the adoption - so here goes!

1. I have to re-do my fingerprints for homeland security next Tuesday. Mine were not clear enough for them to process. This is a little frustrating because it's all computerized and they have the acceptable-ness right there in front of them, but non-the-less, I must re-do. This however, does NOT cost extra!

2. There have been some rumblings among the adoptive community that there are changes in the process of Ethiopian adoptions. We have contacted our agency and they say it's not official, but likely. For us, this means more money, a longer wait, and both of us traveling twice. Although, in general, the changes will keep children safer, but make it harder or impossible for some to adopt from Ethiopia. We will be going forward. It's not our money or our time in the first place, so it is at it should be!

3. Our agency's fee is now due. We were hoping it would be due once we had to turn in our dossier. But it's now. We have applied to SHOW HOPE and should here back in 3-4 months! We are also applying for a no-interest adoption loan. We don't know if either of these will come through, but we do know GOD WILL. The agency fee is $6,000.

4. We will be doing another fund-raising yard sale this spring/summer. We already have some donated items piled in the garage! Please remember us if you have items you are planning to give away.

5. The kids are good... George doesn't understand why we don't go already and just get her :). We've been watching friends and fellow bloggers bring home their babies... so happy to see. But makes the time drag for us. But again - God's timing anyway!

I think that's about it. As always, we are desperate for your prayers.
