I have yet again had the breath knocked out of me today. I found a $100 check in the mail for our adoption - again. During this Advent Season - this first week of Waiting, I am floored by the giving of others. We're all trying to get our Christmas goodies together - watching every dime, during a time when everyone has less to spend. And people keep giving to us. It is a very strange and wonderful place to be... here in the middle of a miracle. I am really at a loss for words... Let's look at HIS WORD and be blessed:
Give and you will receive. You will be given much. Pressed down, shaken together, and running over, it will spill into you lap. The way you give to others is the way God will give to you. Luke 6:38
But the person who trusts in the Lord will be blessed. The Lord will show him that he can be trusted. He will be strong, like a tree planted near water that sends its roots by a stream. It is not afraid when the days are hot; it's leaves are always green. It does not worry in a year when no rain comes; it always produces fruit. Jeremiah 17:7-8
Religion that God accepts as pure and without fault is this: caring for orphans and widows who need help, and keeping yourself free from the world's evil influence. James 1:27
This is how we know what real love is: Jesus gave his life for us. So we should give our lives for our brothers and sisters. Suppose someone has enough to live and sees a brother or sister in need, but does not help. Then God's love is not living in that person. My children, we should love people not only with words and talk, but by our actions and true caring. I John 3:16-18
Thank you for reading today. We have His Word on it: God will bless you!
