Her first birthday has come and gone. It's a very strange place to live - not having her with us, but knowing her. We've been blessed with more photos and even a video from another traveling family. I can't wait to share them with you all. We celebrated her birthday yesterday like we do all family birthdays around here.
George helped me make the chocolate cake: measured the flour, cocoa, sugar; mixed in the butter, eggs and vanilla.
Charlotte helped make the chocolate icing: stirring the butter, sugar and milk; folding in the chocolate chips.
Everyone helped with the sprinkles.
We put in the perfect pink candle and sang happy birthday.
Oh, how we can hardly wait to hold her and take care of her... our big one year old girl.
